In Vientiane, visitors will be soon lulled into its magic by the tree-lined boulevards, tranquil wat and smiling tangerine-robed monks. A tour combined with Vientiane and Luang Prabang will show you the authentic Laos.
The first two day are for Vientiane. You will have a short visit to the most famous sites in this city, such as National Museum, Wat Sisaket, Wat Prakeo, Luang Stupa, Patuxay Monument and etc. Then transferred to Luang Prabang. After your rest in hotel, you will be transferred to Kuang Si Waterfall to enjoy beautiful natural scenery and have fun with the waterfall. Then back to the city to have a half day tour in Luang Prabang with Wat Xiengthong and Royal Palace Museum. You’ ll see thousands of Buddha images at the oldest temple in the capital and discover more during a riverboat trip to Pak Ou caves.
Day 1 : Arrival – Vientiane (L)
Up on arrival Vientiane Capital, meet our guide welcome to Vientiane. We take a sightseeing tour of Vientiane, to visit religious museums of Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple to have been survived from the Siamese war of 1828 and its cloister contains more than 8000 Buddha statues; Wat Ho Prakeo, the former home-temple of the Emerald Buddha statue or Pra Keo, but today it contains a collection of Buddha statues, antiques and all artifacts found in around Vientiane; That Luang Stupa, Symbol of Lao nation the single most important monument in Laos, which was built to cover the original small stupa containing a piece of the chest bone of Buddha; Patouxay (Arch de Triumph), built quite recently in commemoration of those who died during the wars in the past and it is today as the land-mark of Vientiane. Overnight in Vientiane.
Day 02: Vientiane – Buddha Park (B/L )
After breakfast, take a trip by road to outskirts of Vientiane, following the road along the bank of Mekong river to visit the Buddha park of Xieng Khuan, the park (28km East of Vientiane), containing a combination of hundred status of Hindu divinities and Buddha. We drive pass villages on the bank of Mekong through beautiful views of vegetable garden, tobacco plantation … etc. Its nice makes photo stops and see rural life of local people. We also have a nice view of the Mekong Friendship Bridge as the border between Laos and Thailand . Return to Vientiane town and continue to visit Ban Nongbuathong the hand weaving Village. Take a walk on Mekong Riverside before transfer back to Hotel for overnight.
Day 3 : Vientiane – Luangprabang (B/L )
After breakfast , transfer to airport for morning flight to Luangprabang by . Arrive in Luangprabang , transfer to hotel for check in then Visit Wat Visoun, the 16th century temple served as a small museum for religious artifacts; Wat Aham, the early 19th century temple, whose two guardian figures at the foot of the steps which represent two characters from the Ramayana – Hanuman, the Monkey God and a fierce Yaksa; Wat Xiengthong, the 16th century temple which, more than any temples in Luang Prabang, epitomizes all the elegance and grace of Luang Prabang architecture; Phousi Hill, the 328 steps leads to the summit of Phousi hill that dominates the sky-line of Luang Prabang overlooking the finest panoramic view in the whole Luang Prabang.
Day 4 : Luangprabang – Kuangsi Waterfall (B/L )
After breakfast at hotel, we depart hotel to visit the National Museum, the former Royal Palace which houses the collection of valuables including the famous Prabang Buddha statue, gifts received from foreign dignitaries…etc, then we take a drive (30 km South) to visit Kuangsi Waterfall, which, though not very high, Is spectacular and really beautiful with its green surroundings as the preserved National park. We stop en-route, visit Ban Na Oune, a small village of a hill-tribe group “Hmong”, probably the best-known minority group in Laos. Just before arriving at Kuangsi waterfall, there is another village of Khmu minority group, namely Ban Tha Pane that we will visit. Our picnic lunch is served at the shady park nearby Kuangsi waterfall. There is plenty of time for relaxing and a swim in cool water, before we head back to Luang Prabang in the late afternoon. Overnight in Luangprabang.
Day 5 : Luang Prabang – Pak Ou – Pakbeng (B/L /D)
LuangSay boat leaves Luang Prabang pier at 07h30 hrs for a cruise up the Mekong to Pakbeng. A continental breakfast is served while the boat is cruising to Pak Ou Village, at the mouth of the Nam Ou River, where you will visit the Tam Ting “Caves of a Thousand Buddha’s”. Have a buffet lunch on board then stop at a hill tribe village where you can watch the traditional process of Lao whiskey production. Arrive at Pak Beng around sunset and check in . Dinner on the terrace, overlooking the Mekong River.
Day 6 : Pakbeng – Houeisay (B/L )
Full breakfast at the Lodge. At 07h00hrs board the boat for the second leg of the cruise. En route one stop is made to observe rural life along the Mekong and discover minorities, having a buffet lunch on board and continue to HoueiSay where you will arrive before 17h00 hrs (you may proceed to Chiang Rai in the same day.
